Preparing inventory for a desk estimate

What to gather before a collateral and liquidation buffer session so the hour is spent on judgment, not hunting balances.

A strong estimate session begins before the call. Clients who arrive with a clean inventory finish with clearer liquidation buffer figures — and fewer unanswered assumptions.

Bring these items

  • Ticker, quantity, and custody venue for each asset you might pledge
  • Target principal and currency of the loan
  • Lender haircut and LTV schedule, even if incomplete
  • Any coins that are staked, vesting, or otherwise not freely movable

If a balance cannot move today, say so. We would rather exclude it than inflate the buffer.

Desktop setup

Use a monitor large enough to keep the schedule and the working sheet visible together. We discourage relying on a single phone image of a ratio widget; those images rarely show haircuts.

After the session

You should leave with a short written summary: post-haircut value, LTVs, buffer headroom, and labeled assumptions. If anything in that note is unclear, ask before the loan posts — clarifying a cell is cheaper than resizing collateral under time pressure.
